Welcome to this month’s installment of Release Recap! I will be posting these articles around the first day of each month, looking back at my favorite items that released the month prior. Here you can expect to see new releases from brands that I love, releases from new brands that I find and want to share, and new items that I find interesting in general (in no particular order).
I definitely wasn’t as dialed in on the releases last month with graduating college and a million other things going on in my life but there were still some serious hits. We’ve got some great footwear on this list, some pieces from one of the most consistently solid brands at the moment, Umbro, and what tons of people are saying might be the collaboration of the year already. Without too much rambling, here are my favorite releases from last month.
If any of these items are still in stock I will link places to buy them. None of these links are affiliate links, I do not make any money if you click on them or if you use them to purchase any items on this list!
Auralee x New Balance 475
As an Auralee collaboration I knew these would sell out immediately but I'm still sad that I didn't try harder to pick them up. Every time that these two brands link up, magic happens. Auralee always makes the most beautiful but also minimal designs. I think my favorite is the yellowish pair but I would love to have either. You could wear these with literally any pants and you would get an absolute fit off.
Bal Original x Umbro Soccer Jersey
bal original is such a unique brand that I became obsessed with from the moment I discovered it. They make really interesting and at the same time timeless pieces. This collaboration with Umbro on a soccer jersey is amazing, it just works. The blur design is crazy while also being very wearable. I’m so sad that my size is out of stock, I was going to pick it up and I waited too long. There are still some sizes available on their global website right now though, so run.
Paratodo has been consistently putting out amazing product for a while now and these shorts are no exception. Everything they put out for Spring/Summer has been gas. They came out with the Osage pant a few months ago and now more recently, this short variation. I’m a fan of the big wrap-around pockets and the fabric on these. The length is also great, not too short but also not crazy long.
I won’t lie, I had actually never heard of Temptation Vacation until this collab, but wow they smashed it. Now I need to look at more of their offerings. I love this collaboration with Asics. It has a great design and colors and is still super wearable as well. I also love when brands do collaborations with sneakers that aren’t as popular in their lineup. It’s awesome to see a collab with Asics that isn’t on a Gel-Kayano 14. Packer still has pretty much a full size run on their site so don’t sleep.

Umbro Drill Top
Umbro really is on a generational run, and they’re not stopping anytime soon. Their iconic drill top from the 90’s was re-released last month and I’m HERE for it (along with every other fashion boy as well). I’m sure you’ve seen the famous picture of Liam Gallagher in the top while at Maine Road in Manchester. It’s long sold out but if you want to look like a long lost Oasis member you can try grabbing it on a second-hand selling platform.
This unique New Balance model only releases every 5 years and comes with a hefty price tag, $315. If you can stomach that price tag, it’s a dope shoe to have in your collection. Is it actually worth that much? Probably not, but I guess that’s really up to you. This colorway is absolutely perfect in my opinion and the 1300 is one of my favorite New Balance models. I love the way pants sit on them and it’s a nice in between of a super chunky shoe and a more slim one.
Levis x Sacai
It seems like so many people are saying this is already the collab of the year, and I would definitely say that it's a strong contender. Sacai's design language reworks these classic Levis pieces perfectly. I won't say much more because this collaboration really does speak for itself. My favorites are the reversible trucker jacket and the flared jeans.
